My Opinion on The Makeup Geek x Kathleen Lights Highlighter Palette!

With Halloween approaching I decided to make this post Halloween inspired- which gave me an excuse to visit a local pumpkin patch, because why not?! ūüéÉ

When I heard that three of my favourite things were being combined (Kathleen Lights, Makeup Geek and highlighters) I knew I had to get my hands on it!! Luckily for me, my amazing sister recently surprised me with the Kathleen Lights and Makeup Geek collaboration and I have been glowing ever since.

The palette comes with 3 different highlighters, named Sunlight, Starlight and Nightlight.

Nightlight¬†is described as a ‘soft, light gold’

Starlight is described as a ‘blushed, rosy pink’

and¬†Sunlight¬†is described as a ‘bronzed copper’.

The size of each highlighter is quite large and comparable to the size of the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector highlighters, but square rather than round, and will most definitely last ages. But the overall palette is lightweight and easy to travel with so will be perfect to take on holiday to mix up your highlighter from day to day!

Left: Nightlight Middle: Starlight Right:Sunlight

Colours: The three colours are perfect for all skin tones, depending on what you want to use them for! I find the shade Sunlight (right) too dark for me to use as a highlighter due to having fair skin but I do find that this shade makes for a beautiful gold eyeshadow look and will look beautiful on girls with darker skin tones. The shades Nightlight (left) and Starlight (middle), do however work perfectly as a highlighter for me. I apply them to my cheek bones, tear ducts and cupids bow for a glowy look (whilst I mourn the summer season).

Formula:¬†All 3 highlighters have¬†a very smooth consistency and are not powdery in the slightest, which means there isn’t much fall out and I don’t end up looking as if Tinkerbell¬†threw up glitter all over my face. As you can see from my swatches, the products are very pigmented, so only a small amount needs to be applied to your brush!

Finish: These¬†highlighters don’t have chunks of glitter throughout the product at all, which leaves a more natural finish, but still super glowy. All 3 shades look amazing when the light hits them and will create a more natural glow than some of the more glittery highlighters on the market. These highlighters last ALL day, on the face and on the eyes, which is perfect as no one wants to top up their highlight throughout the day.

Wearing the shade: Nightlight (my personal fav). Excuse my squinting, the sun was right in my eyes haha.

Pros:

-The palette comes with 3 different colours suitable for all skin tones.

-The highlighters are versatile and can be used all over the face and on the eyes.

-The colours are pigmented and easy to work with.

-You WILL glow and it will last all day.

Cons:

-The palette isn’t the cheapest, priced at ¬£40.

-You can only get it from Beauty Bay in the UK and not in stores.
