Anastasia Beverly Hills’ Brow Wiz has been my favourite eyebrow pencil for years, so when I was scrolling through Beauty Bay (as per usual) and saw that L.A. Girl had a similar product for only £5, I thought why not give it a go- and I’m glad I did!
They L.A. Girl eyebrow pencil is called “Shady Slim Brow Pencil”, bit of a strange name for an eyebrow pencil if you ask me, but you know whatever floats their boat. I was quite worried about picking the right shade for me because most drug store eyebrow pencils are either too orange or grey for me and I could only base my choice off of a few photos online. However, I thought I’d be best off going with ‘Soft Brown’, due to it being the same name as my ABH pencil I currently use (coincidence? I think not).
The packaging is very similar to the ABH one, although for £10.50 less it’s no shock that the L.A.Girl one looks cheaper and less aesthetically pleasing. Both come with a spoolie on one end, which is always really helpful because I love to brush my brows with a spoolie both before and after applying the product. Both pencils are really small, which is perfect for detailing and the best part is that both shades are pretty much exactly the same!! The L.A. Girl one matches my brows perfectly, which is usually really difficult to find with cheaper brow pencils.
The verdict: I absolutely love the L.A. Girl brow pencil! It’s so perfect for filling in my brows naturally and lasts all day when set with my favourite Pixi Brow Tamer. Although it isn’t the most luxurious looking brow pencil (at all), it gets the job done and for £5 I really cannot complain!
